Who controls your data

Grandstand Live Ltd is the controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us at support@grandstand-live.com or write to us at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA.

If you are in the UK and have a concern about how we handle personal data, you can also raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Please contact us first if you can, so we have the chance to help.

Using Grandstand Live without an account

Grandstand Live is useful before you create an account. Where the app allows accountless use, you can browse fixtures, scores and news and use local app preferences without giving us sign-in details.

Some information stays only on your device, such as local personalisation choices or app settings. You can remove local app data through device controls, by uninstalling the app, or with any in-app reset controls we provide.

Features that need syncing or identity, such as predictions, leagues, leaderboard history, purchases, notification preferences, export and deletion, require an account.

Account and sign-in data

Grandstand Live uses Clerk to manage sign-in and account security, including Sign in with Apple and Sign in with Google. When you create an account, we process the information needed to identify you in the app, such as your email address, user identifier, display name, handle, avatar choice, and onboarding state. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the email address and name they share with us, and the profile image from that account if you have one.

We use this information to keep your account available across devices, protect the service, respond to support requests, and help you manage your account.

Profile, follows, and personalisation

You can personalise Grandstand Live by choosing a favourite team, following teams, competitions, players, or fixtures, and saving app preferences. We use those choices to shape your matchday view, news feed, reminders, and account experience.

Personalisation data can include local settings stored on your device and account-backed settings that sync when you are signed in.

News stories in the feed come from third-party publishers. Reading a full article opens the publisher's own website in an in-app browser, where that publisher's privacy practices apply.

Predictions, activity, and leaderboards

When you make a prediction, we store the fixture, predicted score, submission time, result status, points, and related leaderboard activity. This powers prediction history, rankings, and matchweek summaries.

Predictions are played for points only. There is no money involved and no prizes are offered.

If you join a league, your display name, avatar, and standings are visible to the other members of that league.

If you vote in a live match poll, we store your choice against that fixture with an identifier derived from your app installation, so each installation counts once. Poll results are only ever shown as totals.

Notifications and device tokens

If you enable notifications, the app registers an installation identifier and push token so we can send the alerts you request. Notification preferences can include team alerts, kickoff reminders, goal and result updates, prediction reminders, and leaderboard movement. If you use Live Activities, we process the tokens needed to keep them updated during a match.

You can change notification preferences in the app at any time, or turn off notifications in your device settings.

Purchases and subscriptions

Grandstand Plus purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account, with RevenueCat managing subscription entitlements. We store your RevenueCat customer identifier, whether Plus is active, and when the entitlement expires, so the app can unlock the correct features.

We never see or store your payment card details. Payment details are handled by Apple.

Advertising

Some free areas of the app can show a small number of ads, served by Google AdMob.

If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, we show you a consent choice before any ad is served, using Google's consent form. You can decline personalised ads there and still use the app. You can review or change that choice at any time from Profile in the app.

On iOS, we also ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any identifier is used to personalise ads across apps. If you decline, or if we never ask, ads are served without cross-app tracking. You can change this at any time in your device's privacy settings.

Google may process device information, coarse location inferred from IP address, and ad interaction data to serve and measure ads. You can read how Google uses data from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Grandstand Plus members do not see ads, and are not shown either prompt.

We do not sell your personal data.

Lawful basis and purposes

We use account, profile, follows, predictions, notification, purchase, and support data to provide the app, personalise your experience, keep score, sync data across devices, respond to support requests, protect the service, and meet legal obligations.

Depending on the feature, our lawful basis is that processing is necessary to provide the service you ask for, your consent, our legitimate interests in running and protecting Grandstand Live, or a legal obligation such as purchase, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute records.

You can withdraw consent-based processing, such as push notifications or ad tracking permission, by changing app or device settings. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting support.

You are not required by law to give us personal data. Creating an account is optional, but features that depend on an account, such as predictions, leagues and purchases, cannot work without the information described above.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Service providers, sharing, and transfers

We use trusted service providers to run Grandstand Live: Clerk for authentication, Expo and Apple push services for notifications, RevenueCat for subscription entitlements, Apple for purchases, Google AdMob for advertising, hosting and database providers, sports data providers, and customer support tools.

These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us. Some providers process data outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections or adequacy arrangements.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users, to investigate abuse, to enforce our terms, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Your controls: export, deletion, and correction

Grandstand Live gives you direct control from inside the app. Go to Profile, then Account, to export your account data or delete your account.

Account deletion removes your profile, follows, preferences, push tokens, predictions, and leaderboard data from active Grandstand Live systems. Some limited information may remain temporarily in backups, logs, purchase records, or security records where we need it for legal, fraud-prevention, dispute, or service-integrity reasons.

You can also contact support to ask for access, correction, deletion, export, restriction, or objection, or for help if you cannot access your account.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Grandstand Plus subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's subscription settings.

Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed to provide Grandstand Live, maintain the integrity of predictions and leaderboards, support users, secure the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

When an account is deleted, we delete or anonymise active account data promptly, subject to backup cycles and limited records we must keep for legal, security, purchase, or abuse-prevention reasons.

Children and age requirements

Grandstand Live is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact support and we will review and delete it where required.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including managed authentication, access controls, encryption in transit, and secure infrastructure practices. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but protecting user data is a core product requirement.

If we become aware of a security issue that materially affects users, we will take appropriate steps to investigate, fix, and notify affected users or regulators where required.

This website

This website does not use cookies, email capture forms, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics scripts. Normal hosting logs may include technical information such as IP address, browser, requested URL, and timestamps, kept for security and reliability.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Grandstand Live evolves, for example if we add new features, providers, or account controls.

The effective date at the top of the page shows when this version was last updated. If a change materially affects your rights or how we use personal data, we will provide notice in the app or on this website.
